What does Historic Richmond do?
We are not a museum or a government agency. Historic Richmond is an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the foundation of what makes Richmond unique, beautiful and unlike any other city on the planet. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit that works to encourage preservation, rehabilitation and revitalization in the city.
What is Quoit Club?
Traditionally, quoits was a game played during the 1820s and 1840s with steel rings and metal spikes–think 19th century horseshoes. Through social gatherings, tours, educational programs, and preservation projects, the Quoit Club supports Historic Richmond’s mission by engaging its members in caring about and for our distinctive built environment: past, present and future.
What is our legal name?
Our legal name is Historic Richmond Foundation. But we are also know as Historic Richmond or HRF. Whichever you call us, we have been working for over 75 years to shape the future of Richmond by preserving our distinctive historic character, sparking revitalization and championing our important architectural legacy.
What is the William Byrd Branch?
The William Byrd Branch of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities is one of our predecessor organizations. We continue the work of the William Byrd Branch.
