Union Hill

CARRINGTON STREET TO JEFFERSON AVENUE AND MOSBY STREET TO 25TH STREET

  1. Established in 1805, this area was home to a working-class population. Homes are mostly cottages and two-story houses with verandas.
  2. Jefferson Park is located in the southwest corner of the district with a great view overlooking the city below.
  3. Streets follow the terrain, explaining the absence of Richmond’s typical street grid. A number of houses have been demolished, leaving the district in a fragile state, yet plenty of significance still exists in this primarily residential district.
