Third Annual Art of Richmond

Historic Richmond Foundation's Art of Richmond Silent Auction & Design Contest was a success for the third year in a row!

The event was held on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Plant Zero Art Center, 0 East 4th Street, in Richmond, VA. All proceeds from the event benefitted Historic Richmond Foundation's preservation efforts.Third Annual Art of Richmond

Twenty-five artists were challenged to combine a vintage Dementi Studio photograph of Richmond with architectural salvage to create an original work of art. Their finished creations ranged from paintings to collages and from three-dimentional artwork to free-standing sculptures.

The Art of Richmond Contest was born out of a love of Richmond’s unique and historic architecture. Through this event, Historic Richmond Foundation was able to raise awareness about the wealth of Richmond’s historic architecture--and its preservation--in a new and different way.
